The main RYA sailing courses of interest are the Keelboat levels 1 and 2 and the Youth sailing Scheme, stages 1, 2 and 3. The Keelboat courses are taught on the J70 boats which are perfect for beginners and skilled sailors alike.
After completing these beginner courses the sailor will become more confident in sailing without an instructor’s direct supervision. Will have a basic knowledge about rigging and launching, and essential sailing safety knowledge. These courses will equip you for confident decision-making whilst at sea and recognising good conditions for sailing. Skills learned during the course include rigging, rope work, sailing manoeuvres and techniques, launching, recovery and sailing theory.
